Terms of use

What TallyPuck is

TallyPuck gives hockey leagues a website for signups, tryouts, the draft, schedules, scorekeeping, stats and news. Each league is run by its own commissioner. TallyPuck provides the tools; it doesn't run the leagues, the games or the rinks.

Your account

Commissioners and helpers

If you run a league on TallyPuck, you're responsible for it. That means:

Using TallyPuck fairly

Don't:

We can remove content, or suspend or close accounts and leagues, that break these rules.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post: messages, photos, logos and the like. You give TallyPuck permission to store it and show it to the people your league's settings allow, so the service works. When a player leaves, their game records stay in league totals as "Former player", as the privacy policy explains.

League data

A league's records belong to the league. Its commissioner can download all of them at any time, on any plan.

Plans and payments

Every league's first season is free, up to 16 weeks. After that, a league needs a paid plan, priced by its number of teams as shown on the pricing page. Players never pay TallyPuck. We'll show the price before anything is charged.

Each league gets one free season. A league that starts over under a new name or a new account to get another free season can be moved onto a paid plan.

If a paid plan lapses, the league's site becomes read-only and nothing is deleted; it opens up again when the plan restarts.

Stats and scores

Scores and stats are entered by volunteer scorekeepers and approved by commissioners. We work hard to keep the tools accurate, but we can't promise every number is right. The league's commissioner has the final say on results.

The service

We keep improving TallyPuck, so features can change. We aim to keep it running all the time, but it may sometimes be down for maintenance or problems outside our control, including on game night. The scorekeeping screen keeps working without a signal and catches up when it's back.

Disclaimers

TallyPuck is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we don't make promises beyond those in these terms, including that the service will always be available or error-free. Hockey is a contact sport: TallyPuck isn't responsible for games, injuries, disputes between players or teams, or anything that happens at the rink.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, TallyPuck isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $50.

If something goes wrong

If you or your league break these terms or the law, and that leads to a claim against TallyPuck, you agree to cover the costs that result.

Ending things

You can delete your account at any time on your account page. A commissioner can stop using TallyPuck at any time and keep the league's data by downloading it. If we ever shut TallyPuck down, we'll give leagues notice and time to download their data.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll let signed-in users know before it takes effect. Using TallyPuck after that means you accept the new terms.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States.
